Communicating in the Public Eye

Leaders, particularly in the military services, are under intense public scrutiny. Whether from the government, the tax payer, the news media, or community groups, this often requires leaders to communicate smoothly and effectively in a variety of settings, including one-on-one meetings, group presentations or via broadcast or print media. Communicating in the Public Eye is designed for small groups of leaders enabling the facilitator to tailor the workshop to their specific needs. It enables participants to gain greater skill and comfort in dealing with these situations by equipping them to:
  • Understand and address the specific needs and perspectives of the group or audience
  • Construct the communication based on the desired outcome of the event
  • Speak clearly and succinctly
  • Identify and leverage their natural style to maximize authentic communication and avoid a phony or overly rehearsed affect.
  • Deal with intense Q and A situations smoothly and accurately
  • Practice using a specific pending event
